Andrew Bird was generous with his time, joining us over two days to film old songs, new songs, and improvised half-songs. He plucked, whistled, hummed and sang while we followed him through a backyard in Petersham, and long the pathway at Mrs Macquarie’s Chair in Sydney.
The films here were from our second day, tunes from Petersham are coming soon.
Andrew Bird made films with Vincent Moon in Paris. Check them out here.

No one can whistle like Mr Bird can whistle! Plasticities is gorgeous. Great job x
Wandering around a beautiful harbor on a sunny day with Andrew Bird and his violin….can life get any better? I’m looking forward to the Petersham videos.
beautiful work!
thanks a lot for putting that up. crurious to see what s next.
When he whistles under the tree in the shadows it really could be a bird. And it’s so great when he sings about music halls and dying cities and the Opera House and the skyline are right behind him.
It’s the perfect location to sing a song about not wanting to waste your life in a cubicle!
Nice!
wow… thanks for doing this. I love his music 😀
In the end, he is plucking some parts from his song Souverian. “If you promise spring, then I know that you’re a liar” – that part as an example.
Gorgeous – lucky picnic-ers!
beautiful beautiful. i have chills.
Yes it can get better. Lots better. Go to the Unthanks clips.
