Lately our photographer friend Ed has been hooking us up with some terrific bands – first Jonathan Boulet, then Parades, and now Sleepyhands – some of whose members you might recognise from the Jonathan Boulet garage video.
Sleepyhands wanted to make a video out near where they live, in Sydney’s northwest suburbs. They wrote to us to suggest a dam in Northmead, which they said looked a lot cooler than it sounded.
And they were right – frequented by hikers, surrounded by an iconically Australian forest, covered with graffiti, the dam was the perfect setting for Sleepyhands’ dreamy melodies and bittersweet, surprising harmonies.
The band members are avid skateboards – one member’s broken arm was caused by skateboarding, and now she uses the cast as a percussion instrument – adding to the quirky collection of things the band hit to make their beautiful sounds.

WHAT THE FUCK!!!!! I’m gettin’ demonic shock waves listening to both songs at the same time!
I love the footage you got in this video. I also really like how the camera circulates. Could you do a video for me? Check out my music https://www.facebook.com/pages/Kaila-Picard/207906172570179?sk=app_178091127385
