There are so many amazing local bands and so many beautiful locations, the country really lends itself to the whole idea. I have worked with Family Cactus before a number of times, and recently we were planning a video shoot\/ takeaway show on a remote black sand beach near New Plymouth. The shoot unfortunately had to be postponed, the band was planning for their first US trip and understandably needed more time. A few days later, the band had their instruments around from a recent gig and the near-empty cafe just seemed like the perfect spot for a Wellington video. James Goldsmith, a great kiwi sound engineer, brought down some mics and his laptop and away we went. Big thanks to Jonathan and Amelia for OK&#8217;ing this &#8216;Off Shoot&#8217; idea for New Zealand.
