While I was in Melbourne for Next Wave, Laura joined us on the street to make these little films. Laura mentioned she loved the look of Shoot The Player films, and looking back on the footage I was intrigued by the different aesthetic that Melbourne light has – these films don’t really look like any other Shoot The Player films, do they?
Laura’s intimate, self discovering sensibility struck a chord with me the first time I heard her music. Mesmerising and truthful, Laura’s albums are like much loved storybooks for adults. They unfold with personal history and private experience.
